Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
To all who helped this get started, thank you!
Special thanks to An.American.Expatriate for staring the daily threads, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

I bet the air campaign really heats up. Also, this might draw the RG into the open -- e.g., stick their heads up to take a look around -- and then get it shot off!

The Disinformation minister is going to have a ball with this. He was on Pearl quiting yesterday.

I see you haven't eaten too many MRE's. I just had maybe a couple hundred in my life, but... more than one is too much.

Fox - Adam Hously in Kuwait City reporting that the missile was a SeerSucker, not a Silkworm. They're similar. 11 Fetaheen fighters caught trying to sneak into Kuwait to blow up targets. They have confessed as much.

OK - There's your answer. IF HE'S "punch-drunk" on camera (as a reporter!) then what do the drivers and gunners look like?
What's wrong with letting the guys have the weekend off and letting them get some sleep, take a shower, and just stop driving forward.
Perhaps, our latest strike on the Info-ministry has some Iraqis wanting to talk things out a bit.

One, which my hubby brought home from Desert Storm. It was delightful...with Tabasco, after about 4 beers.

I note that my most unfavorite ex-Fox News reporter, David Shuster has drawn the overnight war shift at MSNBC!
What a career move, David. You go from the highest rated cable news network, to the least watched, and on the grave yard shift.....well deserved, IMHO!

searssucker is the guy who pays full price for a kenmore washer.
Alcohol may have contributed to this post.

Perhaps it turned out that those people (e.g.,
Ralph Peters) who thought they needed more troops for relief and protection of supply lines were right.
It's unfortunate that this looks bad politically (remember, one purpose of this war was to scare the hell out of our other enemies, which we are not doing), but at least we have a military leadership which can change the plan when it isn't working as well as desired.
Alternatively, it may be a brilliant disinformation operation. I generally don't go in for the "it's all a cunning plan!" theories, but there are just some things about this which make me wonder.

My husband and I were talking the other night about how wiped out Rick sounded...we've been thoroughly impressed with his reports but we were wondering if for his safety and that of those around him he should retreat back the line a while and get a bit of rest...our soldiers are going through a lot too but somehow I don't think the training the embedded correspondents got measures up to theirs.

FNC -- Reports that missile that hit Kuwait mall was chinese "seer-sucker" missle rather than a "silworm" missile. Makes sence given the fact that it was fired from southern Iraq. Us southerners get that inside joke.

I am with you on watching the west. It is way too quiet over there not to be in play.
