Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
To all who helped this get started, thank you!
Special thanks to An.American.Expatriate for staring the daily threads, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

I didn't get nothing done today either.
I did go to the store to pick-up a few things.

Saddam must be in bad shape or dead. The "frantic digging" that our drone observed says it all to me.

Somebody was asking about why our troops were wearing green (European) colors rather than desert colors. I just assumed our guys would handle this...but I wouldn't be surprised if an embedded reporter has unnaturally sandy shorts somewhere in Iraq right now. (^;

I agree. This is the result of having as president someone who can make a decision, rather than getting 250 different points of view.
Despite what the media says, I don't think this was a failure, but rather a shrewd and decisive move, decided at lightning speed.
Consider this: the reason we didn't "war game" the roving bands of killer thugs is because those thugs were not in a plan where Saddam was taken out on Day One. I believe the original assumption was that he would lose a lot of his immediate underlings, and the thug element was only going to come into play at the end.
Taking Sadam out left the fedayeen as free-lancers, I think. They are terrorists, so they are doing the only thing they know how to do, because they are not getting coherent orders.

Well, I made up your easy day.
I disassembled & assembled a high-tech machine to replace a Theta Motor Encoder that I use to make the most advanced Implantable Congestive Heart Failure Devices in the World.
Honest.

Has there been more speculation or intelligence that Saddam has assumed room temperature?
To: Miss Marple
Consider this: the reason we didn't "war game" the roving bands of killer thugs is because those thugs were not in a plan where Saddam was taken out on Day One. We war gamed that. There is no way we assumed Saddam would be first out, nor that we would get tier one in first strike. We are confident, and in some ways, cocky. But we do not make serious plans with cocky attitude.

Best theory and logical reasoning WITH visual proof that I've seen in days. He would be on live T.V. screaming to every nutcase moose-limb in the middle-east to join him in exacting revenge. At worst (from paranoia) we would have a tape made with him doing the above and crowing about the mad bomber today.

Don't these 2 look like they could be father (in front) and son (in back)? (look at the chins, the noses, the eyes, even the ears, except for the eyebrows... but daddy-o (in front) looks like he pucks his or pulls them out from being on edge all the time - a nervous habit)

Saddam escaped to Germany and is now a calliope repairman in Bavaria.
To: Nam Vet
Yes. Saddam is probably in ER or dead.

A drone observed the frantic digging?? They fly pretty low don't they??
Regardless, while everyone was watching the frantic digging, Saddam and sons were probably hauled to another part of the tunnel system. I do think they are dead.
1. First video is a clown with glasses.
Next message is a note.
Next message is a video dated when??
Next video is spliced to hell.
Now someone shows up with Saddam's personal body guard at his back.

You think we could recruit him to take out Schroeder? Might be a fair trade...
