Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
To all who helped this get started, thank you!
Special thanks to An.American.Expatriate for staring the daily threads, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

I've always found ALL Microsoft sites some of the slowest on the internet, and have always wondered why.

Marines found a shallow grave that had 4 bodies in it. Reports are trickeling in throughout the day. This was in the area that our POwS were captured. Latest report is that military forensics team on site now and some stations are reporting some mutilation of bodies. (bodies were wearing US military uniforms) : (

" Andrea Mitchell and Jim Miklshe(sp who cares) are so godless hell has a special pocket room for em"
I used to think Jim Mikwhatever was fair, but, in honor of our brave Hispanic warriors-No Mas!! It appears that his sources are now Clintonistas still embedded at the Pentagon. Andrea Bitchell is so repulsive, so biased,so happy to slant the news towards Baghdad, she may as well be in the bunker with Saddy giving him a neck massage. The footage today of that poor woman, with the oatmeal face( who was still alive!!) should be emailed to Terry Moran of ABC News. Yesterday, according to Fred Barnes of Fox News, Moran hit a new low, when he asked Ari " shouldn't the Iraqis who shoot the women and children in the back, be considered patriots?". The left behind, non embedded media are the worst of the worst, the lowest of the low and more are realizing it every day. MSNBC is making an effort with Lester Holt and Col. Allard, Chip Reid and David Bloom-the rest are a waste of time. CNN is the Aaron and Wes show, with Miss Judy popping up occasionally-enough said. Fox News is the only place for fair and balanced information.I feel especially sorry for military families who don't get Fox News.

Perhaps someone will repost a link to maps. The Russian ordnance maps are very good.

Let's put out a misinformation story that we've mistreated the poor little grenade murderer. You must have missed the articles this week about that, huh?

I was talking about the coverage with a couple of liberal friends of mine. They thought it was horrible - particularly CNN. Neither could stand Wolfe Blitzer and both despised Aaron Browne. I was so surprised to hear them say that. They both support the war and particularly our troops. Both were totally disgusted with and outraged by the brutality of the Iraqis.
As a caveat, they both said they enjoyed the embedded reporting on NPR. Not sure who that is (or are) but I have read that some of that reporting has been pretty even.
Both thought the 24/7 coverage was too much and seemed to not think very highly of a few reporters in particular and the media in general.

Try CNN fn after the market closes. It's on all day today.

why is the MSNBC site so darned slow, when they are partnered with Microsoft? My hubby would said you answered your own question!

There isn't anything left to clean in this house -- stress cleaning, you know!
Take care.

I have been reading the favorable comments about Bill Kristol as well. Frankly, I'm not surprised by it as what we are doing in Iraq is precisely what he has been arguing for for sometime. He, and the Weekly Standard in general, are the primary faces of the "neo-cons" so his analysis is bound to be favorable.
Frankly, I have always enjoyed his analysis - for the most part - because he usually has a different angle on things but I must admit I have canceled my Weekly Standard subscription twice since Bush was elected. First time after the China plane incident and then again over their Bush bashing over the Israeli/Palestinian conflict.

In honor of our dusty and sandy and shower-needing soldiers, sailors and air crews I says we should re-envigorate Liberty by allowing showerheads to have whatever flow they may! And strike those niggardly 2.5 gallon a minute FEDERAL mandates. Flush toilets too! Free Our American Plumbing!

To: Aaron0617
Yes, this report on fox news right now is very good about the 82nd and the Fedayeen.
To: The Wizard
This is where the press is WRONG. There are families attached to these people not to mention other soldiers who have a connection. Don't reporters have any ethics?? or concern for anyone except their only high paid as*es.
