Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
To all who helped this get started, thank you!
Special thanks to An.American.Expatriate for staring the daily threads, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...
Mine likes his ability with the screen writer! LOL! Plus, he has a huge crush on Kiran Chentry so he has no room to talk!
Are we sure they don't mean Fort Campbell, KY rather than Fort Knox, KY? The 101st is stationed at Fort Campbell.
Decent gesture, Wizard. Torie's address to the blind press today...the film, the disfigured victim of the chem. attack...made me so angry I was afraid I'd get banned from FR for my response. Damn our press for not doing everything they can do with those powerful pens to help their own country.
How dare they lecture the military - those risking their lives to free the Iraqi people - about "humanitarian concerns", please...take your crocodile tears, your pretentious designer act somewhere else. We're trying to save lives.
How dare they treat the Iraqi Info Ministry propaganda as the moral equivalent of General Franks or Donald Rumsfeld.
BBC produced the film. Guess the lessons didn't stick. Tomorrow, from AP, "Hitler, the victim"?
The press pretends to care about the supply line - like we'll let them starve or something.
Then they report this dismemberment news. Shame on ALL of them.
I'm not surprised it's happening -- all the earlier reports highlighting anti-freedom-for-Iraq protests was bound to have an effect.
I am surprised that CBS is reporting this, must have a negative slant of some kind . . . "Thousands of misguided and ignorant pin-heads took to the streets today, after the KKK rally."
That is a very sweet gesture!
This is the reply I got from Sweet Baby James when I wrote to Sean after he took Charlie to task.
Thanks, Martha, I'll pass to Sean. When CHarlie said GW is not Commander in CHief, I fell out of my chair
Dog, I am willing to admit I might have been wrong about Kristol...or maybe he has changed his opinion of the President since 9/11. Whatever, it sounds like he did an excellent job today. Good for him!
Howlin...thanks for the link to that story about the stupid reporter that almost got killed. I hope he learned his lesson.
Now, here is a question: why is the MSNBC site so darned slow, when they are partnered with Microsoft? Every time I go there I wait and wait for it to load, and then if you want the full story, you have to wait again!
While I am sure that Ted Koppel has the ability to feel compassion he is still a screaming liberal. He has Shaken Baby Ray Syndrome.
