In that case we should wire them up with satellite video phones and send them into Basra to help the Iraqis reach plentiful water, food, and medicine outside the city, and then their peacenik friends will be able to see for themselves. "Follow me, O hungry and thirsty Iraqis! I shall lead you to succor and life! Come along! Here I go! ..." [transmission lost]

Listening to the NPR reporter in the Middle East on the way home would disabuse anyone of the notion that facts are going to get in the way of their opinions.The reporter I was listening to said that the administration was reporting that the Iraquis were using civilians as human shields, but " we have no independent confirmation of that." I am wearing myself out yelling at the radio.
