[history]
The liberation efforts of British, American and Polish soldiers in Iraq appear to be extending beyond the natives to another suppressed group, the French media.
The moment the diplomatic game ended at the United Nations and allied troops crossed the Kuwaiti border, France's legions of grands reporters were freed from the Orwellian group think gripping their homeland to cover a story straight. In many instances, they've done an admirable job.

I heard that France doesn't have as free of a press as Britain and the US does. Is this true?

...and this time we'll use harsh language!!!"Sorry, but that would then become a war crime against the French .. (note the addendum to the Geneva Convening pertaining to "Loud, harsh, or humiliating language directed to the French") ...
However, you would be allowed to either use a contemptuous hand gesture OR a severe frown ... BUT NOT BOTH. That would then be considered a weapon of mass destruction and you could be tried by a War Crimes Tribunal and sentenced to working as a waiter in a French bistro on the banks of the Seine River.
C'mon, guys ... if you're going to threaten to do something, at least read the fine print in the Geneva Convention before you get yourselves into trouble!

The french press is barred from criticizing any member of government. This is also true in Germany, where a reporter was sued for reporting that Schroeder dyed his hair.
The press (TV) is also government owned, making it unlikely to criticize it's paymasters.

Alright, Stop or I'll say stop again but in a nice low tone. With my arms by my sides in a non-threatening manner.

Thank you. How about the rabbit scene where the command "Run Away Run Away" is given.

Okay, I think I've got it now. Thank you for the clarification. The next time I'm beating some prissy frog, I'll be sure to keep all of those points in mind.

Under French law it is a criminal offence to insult the president, carrying a fine of up to 45,000 euros (£30,000).
