INTERVIEW
Robison Writes Letter to Saddam
James Robison, host of the popular Christian television show Life Today, talks to 700 Club Producer Scott Ross about his relationship with President Bush, his thoughts on the war in Iraq, and the gist of what he wrote in a recent letter to Saddam.
CBN.com SCOTT ROSS: Youve mentioned several times the fact that you have opportunities to speak to leaders. I dont want to broach any area you cant talk about, but you have access to the president of the United States, George W. Bush. The responsibility is on you to talk to him. Can you, in fact, affect his decision-making? Can you have that kind of influence in his life?
JAMES ROBISON: Everyone who knows how to pray can affect everything the [president] does. SCOTT ROSS: Yeah, but you are sitting down with him.
SCOTT ROSS: You knew him before? JAMES ROBISON: Absolutely. Im telling you Im amazed. I repeat the words of Karl Rove, who said were in awe of what we watch happening in this mans life before our eyes. Im talking about the spiritual growth, the depth of the man. SCOTT ROSS: Ive been traveling throughout the world, and Ive talked to leaders throughout world who do not feel that were on the right course, that we are dragging the world into a conflagration that could end in some nuclear blowout that threatens the very foundations. JAMES ROBISON: It certainly could have happened had we not embarked on the course were on. The day this country goes into any country because we want oil is despicable. That is one of the absolutes greed destroys. It causes anger to rise up in me to think that you would put any resource above people for any reason at any point in history. SCOTT ROSS: The president isnt doing it. JAMES ROBISON: Hes not doing it because he is people centered, principally guided. Im convinced of that. For us to go out against the enemy that disregards life, disregards the innocent, cares nothing about human liberty or personal rights, that is simply a way in fact of loving your enemies when you liberate them from that intolerant, destructive mindset. SCOTT ROSS: If you had the opportunity to go into Iraq at this moment, what would you say to those people? JAMES ROBISON: I wrote Saddam. I told him he could become one of the great peacemakers in human history by admitting he had the weapons, lay them down, walk away, and become a champion of peace on this earth. Thats what I said. SCOTT ROSS: Did you get a reply? JAMES ROBISON: Oh, no, I didnt get a reply. Were getting his reply. SCOTT ROSS: At this point, were in this war. What is the churchs role now? JAMES ROBISON: We make it clear in no uncertain terms that we love all people in all nations. We pray for peace and we pray for guidance. We pray for our soldiers, for the military, and for their families, for all who are in authority. And we really pray. We do not just sit around and discuss them -- we really talk to God about it. Above all we let them know we support them for the duty they have assumed and for the risks they take for our sakes and for the sake of what I believe to be true innocence and freedom.

Wow. So Saddam's intransigence is a direct result of Robison's letter.
Go figure.
I just want to keep in perspective that I am as much of a reason as to why He chose to die as these that are killing our troops and women and children.
