I do not doubt that this was put on the official Iraqi TV broadcast. The persons shown on the screen were real, they were under guard by the elite Republican Guard, and not merely actors. Whether they were agents of CIA, may be open to conjecture, but getting this kind of treatment is meant to intimidate other "assets" the CIA has on the ground.

These people had guns to their heads, and would have said anything they were told to.
