"For Castro, freedom starts with education. And if literacy alone were the yardstick, Cuba would rank as one of the freest nations on Earth. The literacy rate is 96 percent." -- Barbara Walters narrating her interview with Fidel Castro on ABC's 20/20, October 11.This one is my personal favorite. Absolutely amazing.

Are they mortified that the American Revolution, the Civil War and WWII took place?
What an embarrassment these celebrities and so called journalists and the like are?
Where were these people when bill and hillary were running the country?

Personally, I think Peter Jennings should receive a lifetime achievement award. I'm rather surprised to learn he wasn't among the recipients. But then, I guess it's a little difficult to actually capture that sneer, or those raised eyebrows, everytime he mentions our president.

For the ashamed of the Red, White and Blue award, I would have nominated Jeanne Garfalo's comment (not verbetim, but here goes) I am ashamed of whenever I see the flag. It is not the flag that excites me, but when I see a gay naked homosexual burning the flag... I cannot imagine anyone more depraved or America hating than this woman.
