Boy, 10, Charged in Death of 3-Year-Old

10-year-old boy was charged yesterday with enticing a 3-year-old boy to leave a library in Woodbridge, N.J., and then beating and sexually assaulting him before leaving him to die in a storm drain.

It was a crime without obvious motive, it involved two young boys who were strangers and it all unspooled in the space of not more than about half an hour, the authorities said.

Yet neighbors reported a fractious relationship between the son and father. On a number of occasions, Ms. Borrelli said, she and other neighbors have called the state's Division of Youth and Family Services to complain that the father might be abusing the boy.

His mom is dead. Usually kids like this have either witnessed an abuse, taken part in an abuse or have been abused. Whichever it is, he should be held responsible, even if he is only 10 years old.

He needs to be set apart from society, hopefully with some sort of therapy. Then he needs to be tried for murder when he is an adult. The worst thing that could happen is for this kid to be allowed back into society without paying for his crime.

They don't have a motive? If a man beat a woman, raped her, and left her for dead, would they say that there was no motive?

This is what happens when we sexualize children and give them high self-esteem for just being themselves.
