Good analysis. Apparently some of Clinton's officers are still around and trying to undermine the war effort. What are the regulations regarding officers going to the press with gripes such as these during a war?

G'morning, friend.

Apparently some of Clinton's officers are still around and trying to undermine the war effort. Good point -- that's probably a fair amount of that going on, no doubt.

Just adding the troops that were already supposed to have been on the ground by going through Turkey would add a lot of heavy armor and troops. They now have to go to Kuwait and come in from the south. Add the follow on troops that were already scheduled and it shows what BS most of the article is. After all he could have found one or two officers in the Pentagon that gave him the quotes he wanted.

For Rick, like for most media blowhards, writing anti-war, 'Saddam-Is-Winning! Quagmire! Quagmire!' hit pieces is loads of fun. He likely made up the quotes, or lifted statements out of context. The lie is all they have.
To: JohnHuang2
Good piece, John.
Right from the start, only the media blowhards have expected this to be short and sweet. Right from the start, President Bush has emphasized that it would be a difficult struggle of unknown length.
A pox on Ricks and his cronies.

I want to be first on record asking when the "
Bush and GOP doomed in '04 by botched war effort" articles will be printed?
I haven't seen them yet and I think they're coming, soon. Say, by the tenth day of the war?

Your right on the money, absolutly right on target and I say around week 3 the drums will start beating out this message.

AS callous as this sounds, the US casualities so far in this war are LESS than the servicemen and women sacrificed by Bubba in Somalia, Khobar towers, and the USS Cole.
At least these guys have a chance to shoot back.

Shortly after this article came to light the other night, BIll Kristol on FNC excoriated the article and the author. He said that Ricks was no friend of the Bush Administration, that the report was an opinion piece and it was disgraceful for the WP to release it as a news piece.
