Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running on the weekend, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Michael Ledeen on with Chris Matthews.
Now Matthews goes to Kuwait and their reporter who saw the flash and saw and felt the "thunderous boom".
(I just came in and saw Ledeen and then they went to Kuwait so didn't hear what was said. But I know you mentioned him earlier so wanted to let you know.)

Hi NV,
I guess what I'd like to know is, whatever happened to investigative reporting? I mean, not only do we seem to have the dumbest 10% of the population making up the press corp, but they also seem to be the laziest 10%. When I was growing up I thought reporters worked hard to investigate stories, do some actual research. It seems now the best these dufuses can do is parrot whatever comes out of the Public Relations arm of whatever country, company or person they're reporting on.
There are so many examples. I mean, right here on FR, we've done research to de-bunk or collaborate stories, and we're not even paid to do this!!

Can you supply the twwo links for the Clinton statements again? If you are too busy, that's ok...I will look them up tomorrow. I thought I might write Fred Barnes.

Mara always sits next to Brit Hume. It would be easy for him to reach out and slap her one in a while. It would be good for ratingsA bloody good GOBSMACKING.

Oh, there WERE pieces of a missile in the market explosions....
It's just that they were Iraqi AAA pieces, so, no TV pictures.
To: pitinkie
MSNBC2 is too... just a test pattern that says "ABC London"
To: mware
CNN reporting (unconfirmed) that the Kuwait missile was a Silkworm.

"How the heck did they get by the radar??"
First guess would be that it was a ground-hugger (cruise missle)...
Then again, could've leaked due to human error; remember the Sheffield during the Falklands conflict? The radar picket ship (frigate) HMS Sheffield had to shut off it's missle warning radar in order to use it's sat-com gear... result; exocet slipped in and eventually sunk her (and the warhead never went off!).

Iraqi Info thugs - not used to being questioned are they? Why else would they put out such easily refuted images and stories? Not worried about local nurses talking to the competing news outlets. Al Gore is thinking, "If only..."
