Their mechanics probably cuss us, It's a bastardised CAT system stuck in the Perkins engine, still gets most of the power & keeps the greenie weenies happy on emissions - of course the tolerances are + - 3 mil, so any little bit of sand that gets by the fuel filter....

Question for any 'Tankers' out there. How long can a Abrams M-1 operate in sustained combat on a single fueling? I know it burns the same at idle as it moving. I know they can shut down to conserve. I am interested to know, for the purpose of battle planning, what is the allowed time in battle ops before one must retire to gas up.
