wellesleyrepublican in post #5 I believe it was, said he/she is coming down from Mass. Perhaps you can talk your friend into coming and meet each other. A suggestion anyway.

3 blocks from where my husband used to live on Main St.--it sure has changed!! So come to the rally and enjoy it for old times sake! I too grew up not right there but in the general vicinty and it has changed some yes. I remember going to an Italian restuarant around there quite frequently, when dating my husband during our high school days. I'll be interested to see if it's still there or gone now. Do you think you and your hubby will make it?

I was raised in the Woodhaven/Ozone Park area of Queens. It has taken a few hours for this part of your post here to set in but now that it has, I have to reply and let you know that I was raised in the Woodhaven and then later, Ozone Park/Richmond Hill area of Queens! I first lived on a tiny little dead end street off Woodhaven Blvd called Woodhaven Court. (Not the Woodhaven Court that intersects with Jamaica Avenue. This Woodhaven Court is actually runs parallel with and in between Jerome (101st)Avenue and Atlantic Avenue. When I was 7 we moved from Woodhaven to 107th Street right off Jerome (101st) Avenue, which was right on the border of Ozone Park and Richmond Hill.
I went to P.S.58 in Woodhaven, then to P.S.62 in Richmond Hill. By the time I going to Jr. High School they had torn down P.S.58 and replaced it with Jr. High School 210 which is where I went. I moved out of that area by my high school years but was still in Queens. I left there in 1969 I believe.

I don't know if he has accepted or not but I got news tonight that Curtis Sliwa has been invited to speak at this rally. I won't get a chance to listen to his show on the radio today so if anyone hears it post to let me know if he mentions the rally or not. I know he publicized the one in Times Square FR co-sponsored last week.

I won't be able to go to the Queens rally but will more than likely attend the Nassau County one on April 6th?

I can't stay by the radio all day. I wish Curtis would just spit out quickly the list of all those rallies he keeps referring to. It's not listed the WABC website
 either.

Hope you have great weather for the rally!

Thanks for the ping, but I'm pretty sure we can't make this one. Good luck, though. Hope all goes well!

Laserlock....I'm glad you can make it. As it is, as much as I wanted to be there I cannot now because my mother just passed away this afternoon and we have an appt at 3:30PM tomorrow with the funeral director to make the arrangements. My Mom was ready to meet her Maker and we were praying for her suffering to end soon so as much as this is a difficult time it is also a blessing. She is at peace, happy and whole now and I thank God for that.

I did SO want to get to this rally tomorrow to take photos. Right now I'm feeling pretty okay, but in a situtation like this, one does not know how they will feel one day to the next. I spoke with my husband and IF I am feeling at all up to it I may drop by the rally tomorrow just for a little while to get some good photos to bring back here and post for the troops CD being compiled. I'll just have to wait and see.

Firebrand, I'm so sorry I had to withdraw my offer to drive you from Elmhurst to the rally. Hopefully I can go to the rally next Sunday in Mineola and if I do I am more than willing to drive you and your friends as I described to you this morning before my Mom had passed. I'll let you know if you are interested. I'd really like to make that one if I possibly can.

I am very sorry about your mother. Please accept my condolences.
The weather is so awful today that I may not go to the Kew Gardens Hills rally. Maybe we can go to the Mineola one together.
Be well, and regards to your family.
