The soldier in the sixth photo looks a bit like a young Paul McCartney. Thanks so much for posting the wonderful pix! (I didn't get to hear the song because there were too many hits and the bandwidth cost is already at $3,000.)

With all the negative spinning going on in our media it's nice to see what's really going down over there. Thanks again Dio!

The latest infuriating liberal media tactic I have seen goes something like this..Iraqi's welcomed US troops, then sneered at them behind their backs when they passed by because they don't want us here and love Saddam etc. I heard a different take on this today, on a WLS Chicago radio program, that the Iraqis cheer when the cameras are around, cheer for Saddam out of fear, but as soon as the cameras are gone, it's a different story.
Diogenesis, thanks once again for a wonderful thread! We're lucky here on FR to have you!

Smoke billowing from burning oil trenches covers the sky over Baghdad at dusk. A fresh wave of deadly US and British air strikes pounded Baghdad as coalition forces closed in on the Iraqi capital in their bid to remove Saddam Hussein.

British soldiers of the Light Infantry and 2nd Royal Tank Regiment, the Desert Rats, secure a stronghold from a building top in Az Zubayr, near Basra, southern Iraq, Wednesday, March 26, 2003. Building to building fighting is now the tactical approach being employed by the British troops against the running guerilla-style attacks by Iraqis.

What a very poignant and profound picture. The Iraqi's would probably shoot our wounded where they lay.
Thanks for that....

Our soldiers must love being able to bring food and water to the people they've been in battle to liberate. I love our heroes. They are the cream of the crop of America. And America is the cream of the crop of the world's nations. Thanks, Dio. This thread always lifts my spirits so.

I was going to just thank you for the heartwarming pictures, but now you've done it...the picture of the British army medic and the newborn brought me to tears.
Thank you for the pics AND the tears. They made my day.

Thank you for the pictures. I'm printing out some of them for our 8 year old neighbor boy. He's very interested in the war. He's started a folder for pictures. My only problem is that he now wants a picture of 'the enemy'. I told him mom I'd try and find one that is one piece. hahaa.
