This happens with alarming regularity in some of the older sections of Manhattan where building codes are sometimes...lax. I just hope there aren't any protestors laying their stupid little bodies in the way of any ambulances that are necessary.

Are those old-style brownstones common in this area? I know firefighters absolutely detest these kind of buildings - they say deathtraps don't come any worse than these.

If Bloomie had any cajones, there's an easy way to fix the problem: NYC can hire Houston ambulance drivers, who get paid by the patient. The protestors will either get out of the way or wind up as a patient in the ambulance after being run over.
