[history]
A pro-troops rally Wednesday in downtown St. Louis drew about 800 supporters of the war on Iraq, creating a sea of American flags.
But not all of the national banners were U.S. flags.
Alex Sutherland, 52, formerly of Scotland, walked about draped in a Union Jack. And Jeremy Klaven, 22, of Creve Coeur wrapped himself in the blue-and-white flag of Israel, its Star of David standing out in Kiener Plaza.

Way to go St Louis. Well written article too. I was a rally for America against the Oscars and there was a huge British guy there who said he was former SAS. I think its important to let readers know these rallys display US flags because for the most part they are the only ones standing up to "popular" feelings against stopping Saddam. When it merits, we gladly cheer for UK, Australian, and Polish flags just as loudly. Its not just nationalism, its Pride in nations sacraficing for what is right.

Interestingly, I've seen South Vietnamese flags (yellow, with 3 horizontal red stripes) also show up at rallies such as
this one (Bellevue WA).

I heard about this at 4:47 PM yesterday. I really thought the planning on this was poor--alot of people would have gone had they heard about it earlier. Why plan a rally for a weeknight rush hour? Lunch time would have been better. Maybe next time.

Why plan a rally for a weeknight rush hour? That's what I thought too. I could have made it almost anytime earlier in the day, but couldn't get there at the time scheduled.
