Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running over the weekend and Monday, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

We need to give the U.S. 3rd Army a REST, don't go into Baghdad, let them come out to US.., But key here is taking out Iraqi TV & Radio stations, Destroy it ,or JAM it..

Don't know .. Sky News and FNC were both reporting that there were people walking in the streets like nothing happen but due to the sand storms it was hard to see anything else ..
When the sirens went off they didn't put their gas masks on, but when the explosions were heard, they got them on real fast
Both stations said they for look into it and report back

That is so weird. Maybe he is rude and FNC got complaints and he made it a point to be nicer? He was very nice to us and it was an intense conversation. Give and take, exchange of ideas, and fun. I am so sorry he was rude to you because it was a lot of fun. Maybe we caught him on a good day, or he has been yelled at by FNC and told to be more receptive to fans?

could be but I don't think so - he was out here for the fundraisers last year and I was at them working and he was still rude - I was assigned to keep them in the area they were to be in until the dinner - it was all the WH reporters that travelled with the president

Carney,
I have repeatedly said that the banter needs to be kept down, not eliminated! I have no problem with banter and engage in it a bit myself when there are no events to discuss. However, when the first several hundred posts of the thread are overwhelmingly banter, someone trying to catch up or inform themselves is confrinted with a lot of "useless" posts. After reading about 30 or so back to back, one starts to skim through and can miss information they actually want to read.
As to "news only", that was the intent of this thread - a place to gather related topics and disucss them in general as oppossed to indepth discussions of one topic.
Making friends is a fringe benefit of this type of thread and the usual back and forth IS tolerated - no one has been harrassed for this - we simply need to keep to the topic as much as possible.
Is that really too much to ask?
To: Mo1
Is that breaking news, or were these camps destroyed earlier? In either case, do you have any more details?
