Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running over the weekend and Monday, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

No

I believe it. These journalists went through special training before being embedded, and after all they've been through with the troops, they must really feel like part of the team. It's quite a compliment.
To: Dolphy
The Embeds are in daily contact with Real Americans on the battlefield. They might never be the same again, and they may be shunned by their colleagues when they return.
To: DollyCali
96 of those are probably just me yapping aimlessly.
To: commish
Very funny, I think you might be right.

They've got to have some explanation for the sudden loss of liberal bias.

If you watch the traffic on the Bag Cam, there seems to be an unusual frequency of big old "Adam 12" looking police cruisers passing by . . . anyone know what a regular Baghdad cop car looks like? Or is a black and white color scheme just popular in a place like that?
To: spectr17
SSssssshhhhhh don't give them ideas,lol.

Does anyone miss the Ditech guy? I hate him so much!

You forgot the special NYTCNNABCNBCALJAZEERA caption for that pic
Professional Wrestler turned Marine Booker T does his patented Atomic Spine Twist on an innocent iraqi citizen.

Reminds me of when my husband signed up for the marines. Several of his friends were all excited when they enlisted in '70....the recruiter had told them they were going to get a "free wardrobe worth $300.00", courtesy Uncle Sam....little did they know...it was all usmc uniforms. Yeah, *L*, we all got sucked in. Lots of broken promises that 1st week in boot camp. I went back home after basic for recruiter duty. I hung out at my high school trying to pick up wimmens instead of recruiting my buddies. Hey, might as well put that uniform to use right?

Same with Chritsy Lane or whatever her name is... damn I hate that music! I don't hate the music so much (though it does get tiresome hearing the same lines repeated over and over and over) as I hate Barry Sadler's line: "I served my time in Vietnam. But I wasn't the only soldier there. There was another soldier there: Christy Lane."
I always want to say, "Actually, Barry, I understand there were several other soldiers there."
To: SoldiersGirl
Oooh, I'm so scared. Iraqis are hiding behind large mounds of dirt with AK-47's and limited range RPG's....shaking in my boots!!!

I notice your favorite building is standing tall and proud this morning. Hope you have had no more Tornado's to deal with.

And now, back to our war.
