Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running over the weekend and Monday, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

I missed the blips, and my son was whining about actually watching the cam.

Why do you insist on shitting on our parade? If you don't have anything constructive to debate, go find another lunch to crap in....

Yes, MM found it at post#1984
Bill Clinton: Trust Tony's judgment
"In the face of the foot dragging, hawks in America have been pushing for an immediate attack on Iraq. Some of them want regime change for reasons other than disarmament, and, therefore, they have discredited the inspection process from the beginning; they did not want it to succeed. Because military action probably will require only a few days, they believe the world community will quickly unite on rebuilding Iraq as soon as Saddam is deposed."

This is very funny. It was Michael Wolff right?
He's one of those unintentionally funny guys. Reading him is like watching someone walking out of a bathroom with toliet paper hanging out of his pants.
To: Nam Vet
I also caught a bit of the troops talking about the war - those that have injuries. I only heard the one guy say that they (the troops) were told they wouldn't face any resistance moving up North through Iraq. That there wouldn't be any trouble around Narisia (sp?). And then he said, "but when we got there we found out differently."
I do think there is some truth to the fact that the military did not expect there to be the resistance that there has been thus far. Looks like intelligence dropped the ball a bit here and didn't catch all the Sadaam loyalists moving out to the south to harrass our troops.

General Brooks should have offered to transport Mr. Wolff up to the front lines to relieve his boredom.

Hey Saddam .. can ya hear us? I got an email from someone with a picture of a building being blown up, and a picture of GW in the top corner talking to Sadam in the bottom corner, saying "Can 'ya hear me now??"
I can email it to someone if they'd like to post it.

That's why you are here. To get the real story. Turn off the "Reality" Series of War. This is the real coverage.

Personally I find the Centcom briefings informative. Screw the press. These briefings are for American citizens to receive information. Not to entertain the press.
