Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.

Please note MissMarple has sourced the "quick and easy" to none other than Bill Clinton, speech in London, 3/8(?)/03 in support of Tony Blair. I seem to recall, as well, that at a talk he gave right before the action started, he was giving a talk and---I can't recall if he actually was questioned on this point or felt defensive enough to address it head on----he said that his administration managed to weaken the Iraqi regime, and he said that would become apparent. Implication would be we wouldn't face much resistance.
Until Miss Marple's point today I had forgotten.

A re-bombing of a presidential palace......
I have read that there were not only subterranian basements there but also tunnels to all over Baghdad. Could this have been one of those bombs that penetrate the earth (150 ft.?)before exploding? If so, might it also have set off stored bombs/munitions? It would account for the huge explosion.
No facts to substantiate, just my speculations.

When he says we "downed 186 cruise missiles", he means they swallowed them and choked.
