Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running over the weekend and Monday, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Just as a side note....remember 2-3 weeks ago that the Iraqi regime stated that they had distributed 4 months worth of food to the entire population? These scum are supposed to be believed by anyone, about anything they say?

It appears from the report on Fox News that the Iranians have blown up an Iraqi gunship. Guess we have another member of the coalition! (kinda sorta)
The enemy of my enemy is my friend.... lol.

The Iranians are just taking advantage of the situation, they know once the Ba'athists are gone, and the US leaves, they move in.

Being that I just woke up, I don't know how long FNC has been playing this video from northern Iraq..BUT, did anybody see how high that smoke plume was from that bomb?

Similar or same Iranian story yesterday.
To: Timeout
That was a great article.
Unless someone in the administration said it would be a cakewalk, 6 days only, etc., it really doesn't matter. All the rest speculate and then the media tries to spin that into the administration said it.
Thankfully, we don't fall for it on FR. I do think the early reporting of the Republican Guard collapsing within itself was part psy ops and part negotiations were ongoing that didn't entirely pan out.

Switching to MSNBC Baghdad cam....There's a lot of traffic out...

CNN Bill Sneider (sp) praising Blair: "He didn't follow the polls. He led them. He went to the people; Bush didn't do that." He needs to get out of the studio. Bush DID speak to the people. I heard him.....we all did.

I think Iran needs to look at their own political instability before they think about advancing on Iraq.

LOL......why did they do that?
Well, it was in Iranian waters. Just a joke but it could be that we are getting a little bit of cooperation. Sure did protect one of our ships.

That's my poiny Miss Marple. I know they can properly investigate when they "want" to. But in Qatar, they are not. They can when they want to + They are not = They don't want to.
Did I get that right?

The RG probably would have collapsed if the Feyedeen hadn't been sent in.

wonder if a well-placed note to Rupert would put the kybosh on the bashing on Sky... Excellent idea!

One of the small villages near Umm Qsar hadn't had water for days before we started. And, of course, they're out of food.
Then again, this is a Shiite area. Saddam has slaughtered Shiites as well as Kurds.

I believe that SnA has been misunderstood by the media. You may be misunderstanding it, too. You're talking as if it only has to do with bombs -- a bad assumption, I think.

Didn't we freeze Iranian assets? I smell a "quid pro quo" here.

Schneider works for CNN. Nuff said.

They may think that but it won't happen.
