Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running over the weekend and Monday, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

The truly interesting question is: Who is 'repping' for the Iraqi Regime. It's been a while since we heard from Saddam - perhaps they're running out of "fresh" video tape. The game is almost up.It's been a couple of days since Minister of Info read that letter from Saddamn urging Iraqis to attack.
Is Saddamn a flatliner?
To: Carolina
...much along the lines of "extremists.Oh, yeah!
How long will it be before some reporter starts the trend of calling Saddam's regime "right wingers"?!

After a most excellent Freep effort, that order has been rescinded. Score one for the good guys! WTG, FReepers.

Bridget Quinn is not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Fox seems to be portraying the Kurds crossing the Iraq front lines as a conflict for the Turks. Not sure I understood the line of reasoning.
To: Miss Marple
If I can understand this theory, why can't retired military personnel?
To give them the very best benefit of the doubt I think that what Major Garrett reported a little while on Fox is that many of the retired brass are of the overwhelming force school of the past and Rummy and Franks are applying the "adequate" force plan.
Because of my military wife contacts I know many of these additional units that have been called up were already a part of the deployment, just waiting for the call. So it is not some kind of a "Oh no, we don't have enough troops" reaction from the leadership.
This is just part of the plan. Some of these ninnys fretting and fainting about a "longer war" or "not enough troops in country" either have an agenda that is not pro-war or pro-victory or they are miffed that they haven't been given any inside information.
I know that some posters really think Major Bob is hot but I don't. COL David Hunt and General McInerry (can't spell his name) have provided some of the best analysis of the war so far.

The gall of these people is simply breathtaking. First, they don't support the action. Second, they say they are not going to pay for it. Yet, they want complete control over the reconstruction????? Wonder how my company would like it if I said, I'm not going to work but you need to let me keep all the profits from the company? Nominate for Quote of the Day.

Another really SICK hit piece by the Sydney Morning Herald - a REAL Barf Alert (I'm not kidding!)I've often posted SMH articles on FR side-by-side with the newspaper and/or wire service they orignated from, proving that the SMH routinely alters headlines and copy in order to further their far-left hate agenda and America-bashing. They lie, period. Not slant, LIE. All articles from them should be ignored by Freepers under any circumstances.

If I also remember correctly, Major Bob was Special Forces, not involved in big-picture planning. I agree with you. Some of his commentary is good, but I still like Colonel Hunt the best.
Plus, you never know when Colonel Hunt will say something really funny! LOL!

Paula Zahn would know better; they need to give her more face time on Fox - especially for this area which she knows so well.
