His stepfather, William Bilal, who was once married to Akbar's mother, Quran Bilal, said that his stepson was resentful toward the military and had complained several years ago that it was difficult for a black man "to make rank" in the military. "Asan was pushed to this. We've got that clear," William Bilal told WBRZ, ABCNEWS' affiliate in Baton Rouge, La. "Everybody's got a breaking point, to put it that way. Everybody's got a breaking point. If he did this, he was driven."

Thus proving that NOT promoting him was the correct decision, and that it was not based on race or religion.

"complained several years ago that it was difficult for a black man "to make rank" We obviously should have given him four or five stars and access to nukes. </sarcasm

Military advancement tests are racially biased. Poor inner-city schools can't afford M16s, AN/PRC-96 radio sets, and HMMVs like the rich white suburban schools. </sarcasm

That's exactly the situation..."When someone is firing at you, you know who the enemy is," Heath said. "But when they're standing in the same chow line or using the same shower as you, it's had a detrimental effect probably on the morale."

He was taught as a child (like all good peace loving muslims) to hate and kill all non-muslims...

They are telling the truth...a black man can't make any rank in the service

I've seen quite a few blacks be pretty successful in the military ---I think the family is lying.

Here's what I said about this on 3/23 post #164

http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/872683/posts

Aaron Brown and Gen. Clark now trying to blame the incident on the solider's "superiors." They are saying the soldier was probably "under an incredible amount of stress."

I knew this was going to happen. If you get down to it, he was probably being harassed on a daily basis, ostracized, and not promoted because of his race and faith. (/sarcasm)

Hey, am I good or what? I could counsel people on how to be a victim and how not to take responsibility--i.e. if I were so inclined and if someone needed help. Obviously these people didn't need any help.

The article states
"We don't tell them not to join the Army because they might run into a problem with another Muslim country," said Abdul Karim Hasan. "That's just the way it is. That's what armed forces are trained to do. They are trained to fight."

However

On Oct. 30, the editor of the Al-Sharq Al-Awsat reported that the clerics abrogated their position with a new Fatwa, which invalidated the former one and prohibited the participation of Muslim soldiers in the U.S. armed forces in the war in Afghanistan.

So is it fair to understand that that a Muslim in the US military is alllowed to fight against the US? Looks like he is just being a good Muslim

The Democratic Party should be held accountable for their part in cruelly instilling a sense of hopelessness in black men. "All of society is against you and is oppressing you. You have no power as an individual to effect any change in your life. There is nothing you can do, and it's all society's fault that you are poor, or uneducated. So just give up, and use these words as a cop-out excuse, and vote for us and place us in power who alone will improve your lives for you."

Anyone involved in Islam should be considered to dangerously warped and unstable to be allowed to be in the United States Military.

This is BS. The US military has been at the forefront of "equal rights" since the 1950s.

I served in the Army 1969/70 and by then, "affirmative action" promotions were the order of the day.

In other words, if you were a minority, you needed to meet LOWER standards, to get a promotion. Maybe it is no longer that way. I don't know.

Maybe, now everybody has to meet the same standards. What a concept. Probably not a concept making some minorities very happy.

Like this murderer's lame father. "Mom, Dad, I didn't get a gold star today. So I shot the teacher and the principal."

Agreed. The only color the Army knows these days is Green - no jokes intended or implied.

"likely misunderstood."

So he was just trying harder to get his message across? Yea, that's it. Since he misunderstood the bulk of what he was supposed to know as an Army sarg, they should roll a grenade in his cell some night to wake him up.
