Shep reported a few minutes ago. I did not catch the name of the town. He said more later.

Shep reported that the Iraqis were using women as shields. But, how did twenty-five marines get hit...at once or sporatically?
To: Conservababe
This might be the 20 Marines hit by a mortar from earlier..

Maybe, but he said "breaking news".

It's going to happen... this is war. I'm sure our body armor played a valuable role in making sure that many of those hit are not dead right now.

I know it is going to happen, but it still makes me angry.
Iraqi warriors? Hiding behind their women and children?
They are nothing more that the Mother of all Cowards!

The phrase "Breaking News" is broken :~(

LOL. I see. Well, I hope the ad mod pulls this thread if it is a duplicate.

Did you read Black Hawk Down? (Forget the movie - they minimized the savagery of the Somalies and tried to turn them into the "noble enemy")

I am opposed to sending in American troops, and unnecessarily putting them in harms way to protect infastructure. Iraq has munitions in homes and in hospitals and in schools. Trusting these devils to do right will never win a war. We are sure to loose if we try this.

I've been forgetting to pray for the troops lately. Must remember.

What's SOP here for the next guys in line? Throw in a frag or get out and try it another way?
If they throw in a frag, at this point are they worried about civilians? I would think not

Something interesting happened last night. O'Reilly accused one of his guests of indifference to the plight of U.S. soldiers. O'Reilly then said (paraphrased) "I think I've figured you out, you don't want the US to win! I DO! I want to win!"
I then realized that you'd never get Peter Jennings to say that.

Take a long and leisurely break. LOL

Of course Petah Jennings would never say that he wanted the USA to win. He is a Canadian, still.

http://abclocal.go.com/wtvd/ Check this web site, Shep mentioned that the local reporter, embedded with Marines from Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, NC, reported these injuries in a live report on Channel 11 in Durham, NC.
Unfortunately, it sounds like new info (house-to-house). :(
