Iraq demands UN crackdown on "naked aggression"
UNITED NATIONS, March 26 (Reuters) - Iraq's U.N. envoy accused the United States and Britain on Wednesday of inflicting thousands of casualties on his country and demanded the Security Council crack down on their "naked aggression."
"Iraq, a founding member of the United Nations, is being subjected to a criminal, barbaric American-British military aggression," Iraqi envoy Mohammed Aldouri told an emergency session of the 15-nation council, the first public U.N. meeting on the war since it began last week.
"This has led to thousands of casualties among whom are children, women and elderly," he said. "The forces of the Iraqi army ... are fighting honorably fierce battles against that foul aggression and are confronting it with heroism."
Aldouri said all past Security Council resolutions on Iraq had called for respect for Baghdad's territorial integrity and criticized the U.S.-led invasion as "naked defiance of the will of the international community."

Let's see,
The U.N. Security Council will meet and debate for a week, the language of a pending resolution. "New Europe" countries will offer multiple amendments. If it ever gets near to a vote, our Ambassador to the U.N. will tell France, Germany, and Russia that we will veto any resolution dealing with Iraq that comes forward, that the U.N. has already demonstrated its lack of willingness to enforce its own resolutions.
To: kattracks
Call Speedy-Print and crank out another resolution. That should do it huh.?

Yeah, I watched Bad Combover Guy ranting on Fox News. It provided some comic relief in the middle of all of the war stress.
He also said something about how this could be the end of the U.N. He said it as if this were some big threat. That one really got a good laugh out of me.

UN crackdown We've already seen what sort of "crackdown" the UN was able to arrange when Iraq thumbed its nose at twelve years' worth of UN resolutions. I suppose they might schedule a meeting to draft a plan to write a report, but by the time they get around to that, this guy won't be the ambassador anymore.

Iraq has been hoist on its own petard. Guess they shouldn't have made a monkey out of the UN.

This wouldn't be a problem if Iraq would stop bombing, shooting or gassing them.
