She didn't apologize for sincere reasons. She apologized because of the market backlash against her 'group', in hopes there would be a turnaround.

She's nothing but a fluff headed twit.

Remember that Simon Renshaw is the ass that blast-faxed every radio station in the country blaming the Dixie Jerks' problems entirely on FR, slandering the entire site and (arguably) several individual Freepers in the process.

Looks like we won, didn't we Simon, you ^%$#&$%%?

We need to make sure their next gig is the lounge at the Howard Johnson's outside of Duluth, and they stay there permanently.

C'mon, we don't want them up here in Minnesota, either! And I'm sure they feel the same way in Duluth, GA, too!

In the meantime, Greenville, S.C., radio host Mike Gallagher said he's "75 percent of the way there" in booking Charlie Daniels to perform in an alternative concert to the Chicks' performance May 1, according to Radio and Records.

I was going to say FREEP the Dixie Chicks but instead I say GO SEE CHARLIE DANIELS!!! Sock it to 'em where it REALLY hurts - in their pocketbooks! Yahoo! For victory & freedom!!!

Why should she apologize? If that's truly how she feels, then she should stand by her statement.

Through all the controversy, at least one high-profile celebrity is speaking out in the Dixie Chicks' defense. In his controversial speech shaming Bush at the Oscars Sunday night, documentary filmmaker Michael Moore said, "Any time you have the pope and the Dixie Chicks against you, your time is up!"

This means SO MUCH coming from a guy that probably hasn't seen the inside of a church since grade school and probably listens to about an hour of country music per year.

Once heard the "Chicks" when they performed as an opening act for a concert in Dallas. Didn't think much of them then, know that they're a disgrace now. Don't think America is buying the okie-doke that what's-er-name's FORCED apology has any meaning...other than to try to resurrect their income base. Here's hoping South Carolina leads a full-fledged anti-Dixie Chicks parade that will derail their national concert schedule. Nothing would make me happier!

"Just so you know, we're ashamed the president of the United States (the Dixie Chicks) are from Texas." EXACTLY! @#$%! How does this low-rent, no-talent plastic dwarf even IMAGINE that she has the right to tell folks around the world anything about how TEXAS feels about anything? SCUZE ME? Get outta town, hollywood dwarf-dyke!

To me it is not an apology if "explanations" have to be added to it and it is made as a statement from a publicist.

O'Conner still has a carrer, since we Americans (and conservatives) tend to have way too short memories.

Well, Sinead doesn't sell ZERO albums when she puts them out. But she's devolved into total niche-artist territory; she could never pack even a small arena these days. Plus she pretty much had a total breakdown, and is currently a half-hearted lesbian (think Anne Heche) who's totally recommitted herself to Catholicism.
