Through all the controversy, at least one high-profile celebrity is speaking out in the Dixie Chicks' defense. In his controversial speech shaming Bush at the Oscars Sunday night, documentary filmmaker Michael Moore said, "Any time you have the pope and the Dixie Chicks against you, your time is up!"

This means SO MUCH coming from a guy that probably hasn't seen the inside of a church since grade school and probably listens to about an hour of country music per year.

Michael Moore's history of loyalty to the most EXTREME fascist regimes (Fidel, N Korea, Saddam, etc.) is not escaping most people's notice, (except for the folks at ABC & CNN, obviously). M.M. clearly seems to think that only fat, wealthy white folks like him get to enjoy freedom of speech: Iraquis, Koreans, Cubans - hey, they have brown skin, they didn't grow up in the affluent suburbs like Susan Sarandan & I did, so screw 'em.
