At 2:08 Last Wednesday. just two days after international diplomacy deteriorated into a finger-pointing mess, a phone rang in the basement of the United Nations General Assembly building in a windowless office between a shuttered cafe and the gift shop
Daniel Kolaj picked it up. A man from the Florida Panhandle said:
"...I'd like to pass on a message to the secretary-general. First of all, I want to apologize for the behavior of my president and their administration for their wanton violation of the UN charter. And I want to apologize for my congressman who at this moment in history are sleeping..."
Mr. Kolaj politely said thank you and suggested the man voice his opinions to the very people he is criticizing.
