Senate Finance Committee Chairman Chuck Grassely's said Wednesday that President Bush's bid to eliminate the double taxation of dividends "may be out the window" unless the Senate reversed a $350 million tax cut limit.
The senator said his panel "can make very good income tax policy" within the $350 billion limit, but said it seems "practically impossible to do anything" on dividends. The Senate is poised to complete work on its budget resolution by Wednesday afternoon. Republicans hope to pass amendments that would restore the $726 billion in tax cuts sought by the White House.

I'm very curious about Rhode Island, which a friend who lives in Newport told me is turning Pubbie. If that's the case, that little sissy boy liberal idiot who road in on his father's coattails had better watch his back.

Grassley's personal wealth has quadrupled since he went to Washington. As an aw-shucks-salt-of-the-earth Iowa farmer he also receives thousand$ in subsidies from the Department of Agriculture each year.

Three RINOs voted against the full tax package yesterday ... Chafee, Snowe and Voinovich. Three. Out of 51. The rest were Democrats and of course "Independent" Jumpin' Jim Jagoff.
To: ModernDayCato
Another proud Republican from the big tent party.
To: ArneFufkin
Hmmmm...I seem to recall that the vote was 51 to 48. If those three had stayed on the reservation, things might be different. THEY JUST CAN'T GET THEIR DAMN HANDS OFF OUR MONEY. I expect that behavior from Socialist idiots, but not from our -oh- never mind.
To: Protagoras
Hey, Protagoras, big tent THIS. I'd rather have a real democrat than a republican who acts like one. Stick that in your tent.
To: ModernDayCato
It peeves me off too, believe me.

Grassley is very matter of fact. Can't blame him if he can't get the votes.
We the people should take this as a cue to have the loudest scream to demand that we repeal that socialist tax scheme of the Clintons.
The very idea that we allowed so much of socialism to take hold of our economy should send every "FREE" thinking American to the streets.
This will be the next call of the "Leftist" protestors anti-American lovers of Saddam/Clinton to fill the streets fighting against tax cuts. Part of the DNC plan.

Under the cover of war.......You've gotta watch our politicians closer than the Iraqi Army.

I just LOVE to watch Hitlery and Dasshole and the rest of the Fellow Travellers gnashing their teeth about the 'cost of the war.'
I'd keel over and die if any one of them ever jumped up and questioned the cost of their social engineering, wealth redistribution, or payoffs to their base.
To: ModernDayCato
Your response seems to indicate that you missed my point.
Stick that where your intellect resides.

Can someone explain to me why we care about this ficticious $350 million "cap." It doesn't have the force of law, does it? Who knows what would happen if the bill came to the floor?
To: Protagoras
Whatever. Sorry...maybe I'm not as clever as you. My wife always says that if someone doesn't understand your point, that's probably your fault.

You've gotta watch our politicians closer than the Iraqi Army. All enemies, foreign and domestic.

I noticed Zel Miller didn't vote. Something stinks on this one. G-D slippery assed politicians.

As I understand it, the bill says that any cuts over $350 'have' to go toward 'deficit reduction' or 'reforming social security.'
In other words, we can't have any of our own money back in our pockets. They now get to 'keep' the tax cuts too.
To: ModernDayCato
You wife seems to be more clever than me, or you.
