Hi Dave and Jen! :-)
Nice to hear from you. Thanks to you both for your service to in the Navy and Air Force, respectively.
Another, simple thing to do is FLY THE FLAG!!
After 9/11, there were flags everywhere. My neighborhood was full of them...a whole line of houses put brackets on their mailbox posts and the street was lined with flags. Several houses on the lake have tall poles in the backyard, but only about 25% of the houses have flags out now.
A Coast Guard helicopter circled around a few times this afternoon, it would have been nice for those servicepeople to see a street lined with flags....
God Bless, GG

Get your city, county or state to pass the
Resolution To Support Our Troops This non-partisan resolution honors local military people both past and present who have served. I have not heard anywhere where it was proposed that it did not pass. Just get the blank resolution, fill it in with your local information and send it to all of your council critters.
Dare them not to pass it.

Run over as many peaceniks possible. SUV's work better. Less slime on the under-carriage. Yeah, and they're higher off the ground so you're less likely to get dents in your vehicle. hehehehe

Operation Homefront! Fantastic! I hope this idea spreads to all communities near military bases. The spouses and kids need support too.
Best of luck with your Rally in April! I've been printing threads and pix of some of the FR rallies and mailing them in care packages to a sailor I know in the Gulf. Y'all might include some pix and news clippings or FR threads of your rally in packages you mail over there.

Thank you all for the information on this important subject. I just made a care package donation to USO and when asked "how did you hear about us", I told them "On the freerepublic.com website". She took that down and thanked me.

I just found out about this in our Reader's Digest. (I couldn't find it on the Internet, but it is in the magazine.)
Reader Digest readers have given 67,500 gift subscriptions to our overseas fighting forces. If you'd like to participate, send a $10 check, payable to Reader's Digest:

I think I'm going to do this because it's such a cool idea. One miliatry wife is quoted as saying "the small gesture offers a touch of home."
