The best thing we can do is pray for them to see who God is according to what He said, that they learn to trust him for their lives and health.
Next, is for us to pray for the President, that he is kept from sin and guided by God in all his thoughts and decisions
Third, to make public statements like we have been, that the media sees and announces, so they have a physical things to see and know that they are loved and the loony left are the real minority.
fourth, ...something about the hippies, but I just cant say it on a family forum...

Amen! And, about those hippies... I get your meaning loud and clear! ;-)

GG, gosh it's great to hear from you! I think about you and your hubby who is serving now, all the time. Blessings to you both for your sacrifices.
Thanks for the info on the Elks. I didn't know about that program. There are so many ways for people to do something to support our troops, and I'm glad the word is getting out.
Hugs to you and your precious kids!!

Just saying "Thank you for serving" to someone in uniform is so appreciated by the troops. It should be a common thing for them, but it's more likely they'll hear being called "babykillers" by the freaks, as you mentioned. It's time for the tide to turn!

The thing is, alot of us are pretty strong and independent (kind of comes with the territory) and we won't ask for help. If you know of an active or reserve family left behind, speak up! If you wait to be asked, it probably won't happen. Atta Girl, GatorGirl!!!
Get off your pew warmers, FReepers. Use your imagination, checkbook, whatever to Honor Our Troops and their Families! They deserve nothing less!

Thanks for the info on the Coast Guard Auxiliary.
The Civil Air Patrol, which is the official auxiliary of the US Air Force, is another organization civilians can volunteer with.
The CAP National Operations Center at Maxwell AFB, Ala. and CAP members nationwide are ready to support the country in response to the federal governments Orange alert status. Selected CAP members nationwide who form rapid response teams for both ground and air missions have been placed on High alert by CAP in order to be immediately available when tasked.
Civil Air Patrol performs 95 percent of continental U.S. inland search and rescue missions as tasked by the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center. Its volunteers also perform missions at the request of federal, state and local agencies. Most recently, CAP members flew security over the launch site of the space shuttle Columbia and later assisted in the Columbia shuttle recovery.

Reach out to military families in your community, especially those with a loved one overseas. If you're a business owner maybe you can volunteer goods and/or services to Guard/Reserve family members at reduced cost -OR- sponsor a picnic or fun day for the family members.
I say Guard/Reserve because the active duty folks *for the most part* have a very active family support setup for their family members. Not to mention, active duty families are also more likely to live near a base or post where they can turn for help. Neither is usually the case with Guard or Reserve family members. However, helping either would surely be appreciated by all!
There are many, many Guard and Reserve units spread throughout the U.S. You may not even know you have one in your area!

Thanks for the links, Jen.

Great suggestion V
3!.
ALSO, if there is no active/guard/reserve base or post nearby, there are probably military recruiters! Don't forget about them!
Gals, a suggestion to me via FReepmail is to go to the local Recruiting office, put on bright red lipstick and kiss each person in uniform! It'll leave a lasting impression. (I'll just express my thanks verbally to the women in uniform! hahahaha)
