Langoliers Invade Baghdad
MSNBC BAGHDAD CAM ^

Just before cutting to break, 4:54AM Baghdad time, the MSNBC anchor called a crackling popping sound "small arms fire" in Baghdad.
What was this? It was continuous for at least a minute. It was also on the net stream, but eventually died away.
Anyone else hear this? I'm going to get "grilled" for this "pop-secret" vanity, but it was truly bizarro. Never heard anything like it. E-Bomb? Or snacking reporter?
It sounds like it's back.

YOu're not nuts. I heard it as well. I thought it was big ploppy raindrops hitting a tin roof.
Otherwise, I have no idea. good fun to speculate while sitting in a hotel room however.

Yes, I heard it today and wondered. But I kept listening and I heard some lumber (sounded like 2x4's) falling. I think that the sound you are hearing is people in the neighborhood nailing boards up over their windows.

I AM nuts, but the MSNBC feed just went dead to color bars. Hmmmmmmm.

OK, here's another weird one.
Does the 'photo' of the dolphin with the camera on its fin look fake to you? Or is it just me ...
Ooops ... the feed died. Maybe the e-bomb did arrive!

That dolphin thing....yeah....I think it was posted on here months before, but I didn't believe it then. Who the heck knows.
But why would they put the cam on a wiggly fin?? Why not strap it around their, uh, ears?

Another Search and Rescue operation for a couple of downed pilots along the river bank, perhaps?

I heard it. It could be gunfire -- or corrugated iron roofing rattling in the high winds.
