Nothing interesting, nor anything really new. Just the same old tired parsing and out of context quotes that no one will allow to be done to the Bible, but we all accept as gospel when it comes to Islam. Want to trade guests?

Oh I know..
I have seen some really scary stuff posted by our "Conservative" friends here. You know, the bunch that's supposed to believe in the First Amendment and all that.
I sometimes feel like a complete stranger on FR. It didn't used to be that way, but increasingly it's becoming the norm.
This bothers me because I know I haven't changed at all. "Conservatism" itself seems to be changing. Morphing into something I am not sure I feel comfortable with.

This should be good. Was this the program you told me about?
Terrorism, brutality, polygamy: why it's so easy to "hijack" Islam, the so-called "religion of peace"
Planes crashing into the World Trade Center, bombers blowing themselves up in crowded supermarkets, female genital mutilation, the imprisonment of rape victims, polygamy: the media claims that all these are results of the "hijacking" of Islam, "the religion of peace." But here at last is a book that dares to tell the truth about Islam - and to show you exactly why this religion is so easy to "hijack," and what Islamic authorities really teach about such barbarities!
Exploding dozens of PC myths, Robert Spencer goes beyond the media's shallow distinction between "true" Islam and terrorist Islam to demonstrate - in the words of Muslims themselves - that Islamic fanaticism and terrorism are rooted in the Qur'an and core Islamic traditions.
He shows that since Muslim radicalism stems from elements at the religion's heart, Islamic moderates (and cowardly Western multiculturalists) will never convince the Muslim world at large that there is no place for violence in Islam.

Hey, give me the lowdown on this "Lew Rockwell"
I know I keep seeing his name everywhere and Freepers have very strong opinions on him, but I never followed him or his stuff enough to know what the "issue" (or lack of one, as the case may be) is with him.
Who the hell is this guy exactly?

Do you know who the
Amalekites are?
Or why God swore that Israel will be at war with them forever?
Let me give you one hint...their descendants may include Arafat.

To: Jhoffa_; Impeach the Boy
He's a bitter, mean-spirited old man who keeps trying to make himself relevant.
Every single word they say about him is true.
But I loved Impeach the Boy's post. So true.

It would be wonderful if PBS's attractively packaged, sanitized version of Islam were the only Islam. But I'm not sure that Muhammad Sayyed Tantawi or Marzouq Salem Al-Ghamdi would even recognize it as their religion.
Robert Spencer is an adjunct fellow with the Free Congress Foundation and the author of Islam Unveiled: Disturbing Questions About the World's Fastest Growing Faith.
