This is the sort of commentary that this country really needs. Let the left say what they want, but the fact remains that this is a simple question of cost-benefit analysis that any high school debater should understand. If we leave Saddam Hussein in power, more civilians will die. This is an undeniable guarantee. If we invade, yes, civilians will die, but it will be fewer, and over a shorter period of time. I point out, as an example, France during WWII. In the preliminary bombing leading up to D-Day, some 12,000 French civilians were killed. This is tragic, undeniably. However, how many more people would have died had the Allies not taken the ground war to that section of the western front? Or take the use of nuclear weapons to conclude the same war in Japan. It is a horrible thing that hundreds of thousands had to die, but how many more would have been killed in what would have surely been one of the most bloody ground assaults ever? Surely civilian and military casualties would have absolutely dwarfed D-Day, Gettysburg, the Battle of the Bulge, etc. It is inconceivable to me that people can be this narrow-minded about the sometimes harmful means that achieve, in the end, a much more positive result for everyone.

Many thanks for the welcome. I've lurked for awhile, and my father is a long time poster, so I figured I'd give it a shot.

I heard this live on KVI AM570 back when it first aired. Bryan Suits (host of that show M-F 6p-9p) is an upstanding dude with a kick-butt-take-names attitude. I just wish he'd put his little discussion with "Baghdad Jim" McDermott on the website too. He rolled him over and smoked him like a Domincan Churchill.

Just heard it. Fantastic.
Like any good liberal, she declines to answer the tough questions at the heart of the matter and keeps to her script.
The (nervous) chuckles were a sure sign she lost and she knew it.

This guy (I believe a former Iraqi) was debating a bimbo peace protestor. Mohammed I think his name was asked the girl how war was unjustified, being that Saddam killed 2 million people, entire families were wiped out, and that Saddam makes the people live in terror.
She threw out some nervous chuckles and simply would not answer any questions, keeping to the same line of "we're not helping them by bombing them" the whole time.
I only heard the first half of it but that's the gist and all I needed to hear to know that she is an uninformed idiot.

Excellent! It is a hoot to listen to the peaceniks. I have never heard a single thing from them that made me stop and think. Just like this "little girl" (heh heh), they never say anything.

Listen to it bump. Every should listen to this.
Peacenicks can learn something real besides fictional nonsense.
Patriots can steel their resolve.
