Street justice usually is messy. Ask the Italians. Or the Romanians. I think such street justice is necessary; a formerly oppressed population, by dealing thus with its former oppressors, shows both itself and the world at large that it finally and definitively repudiates them.

We need to stand back and let the Iraqis wipe out the Baathist thugs and gangsters. We will do nobody a favor by going soft on them, they will be a viper under our shirt as long as they live. Let the Iraqis finish them off, many thousands need the Mussolini end treatment.
