Lt. Col Flipper?

Army or Navy?...If he/she makes Gen./Adm., where do the stars/bradings go?..."Pvts./Seamen Clinton go clean the latrines/head" or "Where's MY fish"....translated from the Dolphines' clicks.

The best thing about this is the sure knowledge that the PETA crowd is having a kinniption fit (what is that, anyway?).

Conniption

Main Entry: con·nip·tion
Pronunciation: k&-'nip-sh&n
Function: noun
Etymology: origin unknown
Date: 1833
: a fit of rage, hysteria, or alarm

The PETA folks will be apacoplytic..

Main Entry: ap·o·plec·tic
Pronunciation: "a-p&-'plek-tik
Function: adjective
Etymology: French or Late Latin; French apoplectique, from Late Latin apoplecticus, from Greek apoplEktikos, from apoplEssein
Date: 1611
1 : of, relating to, or causing stroke
2 : affected with, inclined to, or showing symptoms of stroke
3 : of a kind to cause or apparently cause stroke ; also : greatly agitated
- ap·o·plec·ti·cal·ly /-ti-k(&-)lE/ adverb

I'd be surprised if he didn't have a camera. I can't imagine a scene where Flipper goes and finds a mine and returns to the soldier with clicks and squeals and they have a "Lassy" moment. The soldier says, "What's that boy? Billy's stuck in the well down by Farmer Bob's fence?"

Oops, I just did. :/

I believe the dolphins are posted above the actual mines to just carry radar. So there is really no danger of getting hurt

There are several reports from WW II of downed US aviators, in their small survival rafts, who had to discourage dolphins from attempting to push them ashore to Japanese held islands....
