"Not quite like Long Island, eh, Colleen?!! "LOL, no it's not. I just have to watch out for those silly squirrels running in front of my car when I am driving. When I vacationed on Fripp Island, South Carolina one year, I had to walk past a gators home to get to the ocean. Yes I admit it, I was a little afraid. The guy down there told us if a gator were to chase us, just run in a zig zag fashion, and all would be OK. :-)

Wonderful job Billie.
Colleen, it sounds like you have a wonderful family. It's always so great when they are on the same page as you when it comes to things such as politics. We visited with my great aunt and uncle from my dads side, and I was pleased to find out that they are republicans and big supporters of President Bush. They backed him 100% with the way he is conducting the war in Iraq. I suppose I shouldn't have been too suprised to find out they were Pubbies since my grandmother is very conservative. I guess in some cases it just runs in the family. :)
Have a great day.

When I was 17 and roamed the canal banks, one day came across 'someone' like this one, but BIGGER - did not co-exist long with him!
He was on the move across the sand road, so I didn't have time to return to the house to get the .22 rifle, knowing he would vanish and be there another day to surprise me - remembered a stake nearby about 4 feet long and not as thick as he was, but it was the only possible choice for a weapon.
Gathered my courage, praying, and lifted and hit him as hard as I could.
Big Problem - I had misjudged his forward speed and there was a whole foot of furiously swinging head trying to express its wrath..:((
Prayed some more, and lifted it and whomped it repeatedly, just like the Joan of BC cartoons, until it stopped moving.
Darned very heavy thing took forever to drag home the 1/4 mile with the stake - measured it to be just a tad over 5 feet long.
When my ex-Yankee boyfriend from Chicago came to get me for a date, he was not used to such things - blanched visibly and nearly threw up...lolol.
Earned me another nickname of "Snake Charmer" from a fellow at school who became an Orange County Judge....

"Our circles have officially crossed and overlapped...:))" It occurs to me that in view of that, our friendship, and the fact my paternal grandmother was from Long Island, I hereby can claim you as, at the very least, "Cuzzin Colleen"!!

I have always enjoyed your posts and the sunshine that you add to the Finest. I have run into your brother off and on on various threads. He is a passionate, informed poster. It's always good to come across FReepers like that.
What a superb FReeper family!

I have learned a lot from my brother John.I'm sure others like myself have, as well. That's what I like about FR. If you take the time to read the posts that go along with the news articles, there is usually some very enlightening info that FReepers can and do add.
