I haven't read Mort's book, but I did hear him on Booknotes with Brian Lamb. He's one of the very few dems that I respect, and the interview increased my respect for this devoted husband.

My recollection is that Mrs. Kondracke died in the latter half of 2002, but I am hazy on this.
