Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running over the weekend and Monday, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...
TOPICS: Breaking News; Foreign Affairs; War on Terror

Not to mention the call to try and get Saddam that first night and didn't tell Blair until minutes before (thought that was odd at the time). One thing I have learned from Bush, there is a reason for everything he does, even if we don't understand at the time .. so I have just learned to trust him

What if we beat Saddam at his own game and dropped a chemical weapon on Baghdad and blamed it on them? No one could ever prove anything, we have already set them up the bomb, almost daring them to use it, knowing it would hurt them worse then us. Ok, flame away

Dosen't take an ops pass to see that we are overextended. You remind me of that little grand stander Montgomery. If we had used his time table we would be marching Paris next week to end WWII

I know Blair did and I'm glad he got through them
I don't think he was the only one who wanted surgical strikes
We have to rebuild whatever we destroy over there so if we don't have to destroy it they haven't

Are those plumes of smoke in the BAG pics from bombing or those trenches they lit on fire?

I only slept in bed ONE NIGHT! Stayed on FOX and FR until I fell asleep in my office chair ALL the other nights. Too much war planning. I don't do well when 'the Boss' isn't here.

You ever hear of air resupply?
Not for an Armored force. I doubt there are that many chutes or platforms east of the Atlantic

I agree with you that "terms of engagement" have to be changed and I would bet they are changing as I type! Cannot continue to surgical strike only targets without civilians when the Iraqi guerilla's have chosen to occupy civilian buildings.
Heard someone say tonight that the TV broadcasts are coming from a day care center and it is going to take special ops to take them out.
Iraqi's are fighting dirty and after what they did to our POW's I expect President Bush is about to take the gloves off!

Since the smoke always seems to be coming from the same spot on the horizon, I'd guess that we're seeing the oil trenches.

I don't tend to trust politicians in general. Well that is understandable .. on average they don't have a great history .. but there are some good ones in the bunch
