In the last years of Israel's history, the Jewish rabbis, from a motive of reverence to God's holiness, avoided pronouncing any of the names expressing the Divinity in the Hebrew language, such as El, Elohim, etc., and still less Yahweh, the ineffable name, i. e. a name unutterable to any human tongue; instead of these, they used metaphors or expressions having reference to the Divine attributes. I'd be more concerned about getting the pilots out and saving the fire/rescue crew from an exploding cockpit and weapons in a rear-area crash.


And then there's that dummy in the third shift repair crew who forgets to disarm it the first time he tries an engine test in the hanger after a repair job .......

MAgnesium engine burned up a fellow desert racer near LAs Vegas back about 10 years ago.

He rolled his pre runner and didn't have his window nets up. His arm was pinned and the engine magnesium fire burned him up as witnesses tried to roll the car oer. Fire was too intense by the time they got there. Burned hands etc.

Shepherd Smith was talking about Blair's visit and how President Bush is going to have to lay the cards on the line that we may have to bomb more than just surgical strikes and tell him that the nice bombing, no civilian casualities, is getting our troops killed? Paraphrased but that it the gist of the comments.

A lot of military analysts tonight on all the stations are less than impressed with some of the surgical strikes and one on Fox believes that Pres Bush will now unleash our forces to start taking out the pockets causing the problems. These are the Saddam guerilla's fighting not his regular or Republican guard troops. The military analyst on Fox reported that they have been in the different areas of Iraq for sometime and they have the regular Army refighting once again because they are frightened of these people.

I am not an expert on the reformation but I can understand how a people, without generations of secular government, would struggle how to separate their religion from their government. Add to that centuries of western abuse (long before the United States had any involvement) and their own leaders abuse, and you have a deep suspicion of western values. I don't think it's right, but in some ways I understand. Sometimes I think all of the marbles rest on the outcome of the post-war Iraq. If that fails there could be dark days.

Arab League 'salutes Iraqis'

CAIRO, Egypt (CNN) -- The Arab League is considering a draft resolution on the war in Iraq and has offered solid support to the Iraqi people.

The league, meeting in Cairo, is calling for an urgent U.N. Security Council session. The consensus evolving from the meeting indicates strong support for the Iraqi people and their current situation.

Amr Moussa, the league's secretary general, said: "I salute the Iraqis and wish them victory."

the meeting say the war is an example of renewed Western imperialism.

They say the war is part of a long-term plan is to change the Middle East map and remove national leaders such as Iraqi President Saddam Hussein and Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat.

Libyan Foreign Minister Mohammed Abderrahmane Chalgam condemned the "aggression" and said: "We must lift our heads and greet the bravery of the Iraqi people."

Hamood said the ministers are putting together a resolution with several essential demands. Among the points being considered for the resolution:

• Condeming the war on Iraq.

• Refusing to legitimize the war.

• Opposing what ministers call the drift of the United Nations away from its charter as an international body whose responsibility is to keep peace and stability in the world.

• Opposing any U.N. partnership or meddling in Iraq's internal affairs.

• Respecting the unity and sovereignty of Iraq and its rights to its natural wealth and resources.

• Resuming the U.N. inspections in Iraq.

• Respecting the sovereignty of Iraq's neighbors.
