Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running over the weekend and Monday, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Maybe all the Freepers can pool our money and buy ABC! Do I personally get to fire Petah with extreme prejudice?

Ollie is forward deployed with the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force. His last report was a couple days ago from a forward air base.

Mort wasn't as bad as Mara .. but basically it was the same liberal doom and gloom and Mara need to brush up on her military history and how wars are fought

What do they think they're attacking this time? Longing for 72 virgins....or, more likely, the growing understanding that Iraqi bad guys will pay for what they did to the Iraqi people, imho.

Listening to Mora's criticisms is like hearing fingernails scraping across a chalkboard.

*S* Here's their combat report just prior to that one:
2322 GMT - U.S. Army Gen. Tommy Franks has said that U.S. forces will wait to make a major push to Baghdad until March 29. Reasons given were weather, exhaustion -- particularly of the 3rd Infantry Division -- and the need for maintenance and repair of equipment. Franks says his staff fears the two bridges at Karbala are well-covered by Iraqi long-range and other artillery, and crossing there would be too dangerous. The plan instead is said to be to cross the Euphrates north of Karbala, about 20 to 25 miles outside of Baghdad. This point would be on the river between Karbala and Al Fallujah.
I understand the need for rest but I thought the storms were supposed to lighten starting tomorrow and the weather would be good for a few days. I'm guessing they're being fed disinformation here.

"do we really believe that the entire 4th is sitting in texas and ALL THEIR EQUIPMENT is on ships just sitting there. "
believe or not, your choice....but I'll tell you that are umpteen thousand troops sitting here feeling like poop because they aren't battle like they want to be.

Also, I think it odd that no one is talking about east of BD. We have to be screening out there if only to keep Saddam in and Iran out. There is something going on...

Heck, that's more rational than some of the Army logistics (mis)management meetings I've attended with their acronyms and anti-abbreviations.
By the way, you misspelled "Oyt! Nopdjh"
(Always remember, it dounds like "Oy before way, unless after neigh ass in away and weigh....")
