Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running over the weekend and Monday, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Hackworth Alert!! He's coming up on Sean Hannity's radio show in a few minutes. Wasn't planning on listening to Hannity today. Now I'm planning on not listening.

I'm guess the guy manning the cam has a stereo and he plays random sounds through the night.

It seems like the sand or rain or whatever on the MSNBC cam is letting up. Lights in the far off distance are starting to be visable.

I swear I can hear B-17's on the CBS cam. It's like 12 O Clock highThose would be prop-retrofitted B-53s.
To: AppyPappy
Or a keyboard. That could explain why I keep thinking of those post WW3 movies.

Dumb question. Was the foot of snow in Israel a joke?
To: Norman Arbuthnot
I don't know what Hackworth can talk about. He's always knocking the armed forces, but now that they're really performing, he's outa topics IMO. Dare we hope that he will cough up a compliment or two?

It sounds like a train.

Neil Cavuto now pitching into the press and the French. Go, Neil!

I'm guess the guy manning the cam has a stereo and he plays random sounds through the night. The Iraqi version of Pink Floyd, maybe? Almost sounds like that elevator sound on Wish You Were Here.

That train seemed to just crash into something.

mea culpa! Too many press conferences today. I'm ready to punch the next reporter who claims to "care" about the Iraqi people after ignoring comments from CENTCOM and DOD and CIC re.
our (America's, MILITARY - not UN, not left-wing special interest) humanitarian efforts.
Neil closes the show: "It's a wonder our generals don't say, "screw you."" (^:

Wonder if it could be the sounds of a hydraulic motor (gun turret motor) on a nearby vehicle/AA gun emplacement?

Thanks for the reponses to my question about refugees from Jordan. I had to go out for a few hours. It doesn't seem to be a very well substantiated story.
Have I missed much?
