There would be a MASSIVE civil war amongst them if that happened. Originally, there were several versions of the Koran (some much "softer" than others), but some iman had all but the current version destroyed.

There is probably no source ... but look at the 30 Years War in the 17th century as an example of what happens when protestants and catholics get into it. Now imagine that same with war with modern weapons over two flavors of islam.
