Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running over the weekend and Monday, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...
TOPICS: Breaking News; Foreign Affairs; War on Terror

I'm still watching/listening to Sky. Haven't tortured myself with an alphabet network for years - my blood pressure would go through the roof.

Precisely. The UN has already made a WORSE mess of the Croatia/Serbia situation than before, even though the overt killings have seemed to stop.
Partly the fault of the WWI/WWII "boundaries" established by the Allies (principally the Brits.) Same "boundary" problem exists in the Middle East.
The UN is a bunch of gasbag pointy-heads--not really a big help, except in spending lots of money. LOTS of money.

Did Millie pass away? I watch Fox nearly every night and haven't heard this. That's what was said earlier in this thread. I too am an avid Fox News fan, and hadn't heard this.

He also said that the Iraqis he's in contact with (taxi drivers, people selling cigarrettes to journalists) seem completely unaware of what's actually going on (of course they know there's a war) and certainly have no idea that coalition troops are closing in on the city. When the studio person asked if the iraqis were supporting saddam, his answer was yes they are - on camera and no off camera. This explains perfectly why there isn't dancing in the streets. Iraqis are not aware that their liberation is right around the corner and they know better than to admit publicly they do not support Saddam. The media constantly questions the administration why the Iraqi people are not celebrating. We've known the answer, thanks for reinforcing it.
