Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running over the weekend and Monday, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

I lived for 9 years in Germany and the last 4 in Switzerland.
The relationship was NOT severed by the US. The Franco-Prussian alliance did this all on thier own. If they want back in, fine, but as you said, they will be scrutinized! It CAN NOT be that the US grovels at the feet of Europe, begging them to come back - they need to prove thier worthiness, then we allow them limited roles.

Set the VCR, and watch it live.

Update: nobody killed/injured.
To: commish
Your question: do you set the VCR to record the asteroid hitting France, or do you stay up to watch it live? Answer -- You prep the battlefield for the asteroid.

Thanks for translating that! I'm dense on kilometers. Saudi Arabia has just offered a peace plan......poor timing IMO.

I never said that America would grovel at Europe's feet. Nor, did I say that we would beg them to come back.
I did say that we should extend the hand of friendship...
And I never said that the relationship was severed by the US... What I said is that even though Europe cut off their nose to spite their face, I would not let them do that to America....

How about a running commentary for those of us who hate BBC too much to catch their feed and can't get the Sky feed? Nothing on my cable system is carrying Straw.

Ashleigh Banfield has been terrific covering the fragging. Just showed pictures of the victim who died, including yearbook photo. Said his wife and baby have moved back to be with her family.
MSNBC reporter from the USS Abraham Lincoln says sorties increasing and weather not hindering them.
