Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running over the weekend and Monday, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

ABC says their embeds say new procedure on taking prisoners.
Answer is using extreme caution rather than a new procedure.
English accented guy asks question with an extremely snide tone to his voice. I didn't catch question, but answer is "he didn't say" exactly what reporter's premise was. We have concern if we see buses etc. and are suspicious. We encourage innocent Iraqis to stay off roads, though we have not imposed no-drive zones.
Question: No shock and awe?

There's a great pix of the dolphins in training that's been posted on FR. Maybe a search would bring it up or you could see if Rummychick would repost.

British accented guy asks question with an extremely snide tone to his voice. It's cuz the American press is so uncritical in their questions. (That's the Beeb's view)

I noticed that. He was implying that we have not shocked and awed the northern front. It really was an opinion, not a question.

There's a pretty simple way of doing it and thats to boost the GPS signal to a strength above that of the jamming signal, drowns out the bad signal.

Question: "Who do you like in the final 4?"
Response: "???"

I was fortunate enough to catch the dolphins performing on a TV documentary. It was amazing.

Your life would never be dull. I wouldn't make any sudden movements late at night, though. (^:Good morning, all!
Ragtime Cowgirl, I just saw the above reply to me from last night and I can't stop laughing! My dad was a Marine and can wake up at a pin drop. One time he heard someone trying very quietly to get in our front door at about 2 or 3 AM. The door opened a tiny bit and he grabbed the person with one hand and pulled his other into a fist and just before he knocked the person out...he realized it was my brother trying to sneak in after curfew! My brothers eyes were as big as saucers and he finally said, "It's me dad!!" We didn't try and sneak in late after that! LOL!!!

The weather question has an easy answer.
The sandstorm affects visibility MUCH more horizontally than vertically. It will effect anything trying to operate visually in the horizontal plane. Looking down from above, planes are MUCH less affected.

Question about irregular/Fedayeen forces.
Answer: Great point. Irregular forces terrorizing their own people. ie. Local community the other day jubilant when irregulars taken out. Reassure civilians we're coming!!
To: Sacajaweau
I saw that too, I was pretty dumbfounded.
