Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running over the weekend and Monday, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

I'm already feeling a bit bogged down ;-§

LOL! Even the
weather man on MSNBC referred to the rain that's coming down in Iraq and the resulting mud as a ....QUAGMIRE! It's the word of the week.

FREEREPUBLIC is the Archiv of Media duplicity!!

I have to send my husband updates at work so that he can reassure his coworkers that the war is advancing and that it has been astonishing.
To: TomGuy
LOL! Should be a campaign poster. You should forward the idea to protestwarrior or scrappleface.
To: An.American.Expatriate
LOL....very true!
To: AppyPappy
We need to start an archive of quagmire stories to show the duplicity of the media. Start the thread; we'll join in.

Besides the sandstorm, Bloom is reporting thunder & lightning from a thunderstorm. He also reported that the troops are still working on a Bradley engine. One earlier shot I saw was mechanics working on a pulled engine about 15-20 feet from him.

or is that 4:30 p.m.????? if 8 hours ahead (I never did say I could add, lol) : )
To: maquiladora
Wow, check out that sandstorm on sky news.

I can live with 20 to 1.
That CNN cam is really wild today; some piece of debris keeps blocking it every time the wind really whips up.

Wow, check out that sandstorm on sky news. Can you post the link please?

I just hope this doesn't turn into a quagmire. We are now starting to mention enemy body counts, something we scrupilously avoided doing in GWI.
We need to keep our eyes on the prize here. We also need to stop having our ex-generals on tv criticizing the war plan and suggesting that the supply lines are cut to thin. All this does, true or not, is encourage the Iraqi's to concentrate on taking out our supply convoys by skirting engagement with our heavy armour. Nice going ya talking heads.

Going to the United Nations would not be a sign of U.S. weakness, but strength. It is also smart. NOT!
