I agree with the assessment on Rummy...America, esp. Prez Bush put way too much faith into him...Rummy is playing a very dangerous game here...he put only just enough force in the theater and yet we still have to get the 62,000 troops from the 4th mech in place (which should be in place over Turkey)...there were noises of not having enough boots on the ground before the war starts...and yet, the politicians are playing with the unrealistic timetable...Rummy is a micromanager, smart, but abrasive and love to direct all the minor details in a plan...and worst yet, he has no experience in leading men in battles...

look at the rummy hyperbole...

1) decapitation - 2) lack of command and control 3) losing control 4) shock and awe 5) massive surrenderings and 6) happy iraqis to greet us...

how many of that came true? the next hyperbole is the precision bombs will do the job, light and mobile units is what we need, we own the night....

I sure hope rummy is not drunk with his own koolaid as I have friends and family serving in the theater now...I want them to come home safe and sound...

seriously, if this war goes badly, I really wanna hear what all those neocons who never served in military will say..the likes of Kistol, Wolfowitz and Perle...

maybe I am getting cold feet here, but the hubris, overconfidence from Rummy is what scares me the most...

1) is still somewhat uncertain, but all of the other 5 have happened.

Instead of surrenders and POWs a lot of troops simply went home.

Believe me, if the Iraqis DID have effective command and control, and if the entire Iraqi regular army was actually fighting, we'd probably have about 500-1000 killed by now.

You're not getting cold feet. You're reading too much Buchanan bullshit.

Stop believing Justin Raimondo, and watch what happens.

Don't go anti-semite on us, son.

I've been concerned since Capt Chris Seifert, from my hometown, was killed yesterday. Such a fine young man killed by a Muslim-American. I pray that this general is wrong.

Kinda like Bill O'Reilly said tonight..... take a break, get away from the news media reports 24/7.... He said basically the media focuses on the negative thus if you hear it long enough you lose perspective and can't see the larger picture.... It's hard to put these isolated bits from embeds together into a coherent picture as we don't see the overall info the Central Command is seeing....

I'm with you. What's really scaring me is that sand storm coming. Iraqis know how to fight in those circumstances -- or at least, they have a much better idea of how to take advantage of such weather.

What McCaffrey's saying is that it's going to be tough, really tough in the next few days. But, then again, which of our great victories weren't?

Ok. Let's

1. decapitation. The photo op king of Bagdad appears on a TAPE with 50 to 60 EDITS.? No mention of POWs?

2.Lack of command. We are told radio contact is minimal, unless you are using camels its tuff to transmit. Don't you wonder why the great DICKtator praised, on his taped announcment, a division that SURRENDERED?

3.Losing control. Even liberal sources are saying the resistance has been sporadic and unruly? IF the kingpiin were alive would it be so? Yeah, could be a trap, doubt it.

4. Shock and awe? You have witnessed the greatest precision effort since JOEY CHATWOOD took to the ovals with his famed STUNT team. You saw palaces the size of small cities leveled yet the street lights still shine. I'm in awe.

5.+ 6.Mass surenders, happy to greet?...Depends what you read and where you look. The places I trust see it that way: happy surrenderers. Time will tell, you post me if I'm wrong.

Have Faith in that you trust, GOD Bless America.

I'd feel a lot better if we had some more troops on the ground in Iraq.

It seems that we're relying upon our air-power to compensate for our small numbers but we're not being honest about the fact that we're not willing to fully utilize that air-power because of humanitarian reasons.

Gee, what a horrible situation for a war less than a week old, and irresistable force being unleashed on the enemy!

People like you are kind of amusing. Don't you long for the days of Bill Clinton, when no one got their hands dirty except Monica?
