The Daily Star talks of our "brave heroes" - the SAS. The paper claims that members of the elite group of troops are already on the streets of Baghdad. Oh and there is a picture of a girl in a bikini.
The Sun shows a British tank poised to attck Baghdad with the Allied army set to do battle with Saddam Hussein's elite Republican Guard. It uses the headline: "Saddam's Last Stand."
The Daily Express is also looking at the main push towards Baghdad. It uses a picture of allied troops ready to go over the top.
US and British warplanes, guided by special forces soldiers on the ground, have begun an intense bombardment of major Republican Guard bunkers outside Baghdad, according to the Guardian.
American and British forces have launched more punishing attacks on the Republican Guard divisions around Baghdad according to The Independent. These come ahead of the looming battle for the Iraqi capital.
The crucial push for Baghdad was under way according to The Times. Allied forces have bombarded the Republican Guard and started to zero in on President Saddam Hussein.
The Financial Times also concentrates on the battle for Baghdad. It says US forces, closing on Baghdad, have begun pounding Republican Guard units protecting the city.

Aww, no Daily Mirror. A darn shame, that.
Good Morning Britain!
To: All
Oh, wait, I found it. Lucky me.

But they're not POW's.
POW's are uniformed. These are simply terrorists.
Let their bones be filled with hot lead. The Mirror editorial staff too.
To: Republicanus_Tyrannus
I meant "MOLTEN LEAD". Sorry for that vague terminology.
To: Dont Mention the War
Pretty big change in coverage (except for the Mirror).
Thanks and prayers for our UK allies!

That is obviously not a regulation SAS uniform.
I would say that some minor punishment would be appropriate.

Is the daily Mirror on the side of Islamofascists?
Gitmo detainees are treated better than the marines are down there. No Gitmo detainee was ever beaten, their food needs were catered to very well, none made to be used for propoganda, none tortured, unlike the POWs in Iraq.
Of course what do you expect from a country that lies to its own people and tortures them to death. The human 'shredder' and shooting parents in from of kids, raping wives in front of husbands - sickening. Yet they do it to their own people. My heart goes out to the POWs, the are prisoners of a very sadistic bunch.

LOL ...
And we really appreciate the Daily Star.
NYT would have a real step up if they went in that direction.

I think they are talking BRITISH tanks.
Look at the number of soldiers, we have 3 times that many over there.
